Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA) was developed in the United Kingdom in the early 1990s and is often recommended as an alternative to BOTOX® or other cosmetic injectables. Dysport is a versatile treatment that works to temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines, as well as other conditions, such as excessive sweating under the armpits.

Before providing you with a Dysport treatment, our dentist will thoroughly examine your skin and review your medical history to ensure that this treatment is right for you. This medication will be injected directly into your facial muscles in the areas underlying your frown lines. Dysport injection is painless and does not require an anesthetic. Following treatment, you may be unable to frown for some time, as the medication temporarily reduces muscle activity.

You may require three to five sessions in order to achieve the best results. Each session should take 10 to 20 minutes, with sessions spaced at intervals of about four months. You should see improvement in your appearance within two to three days following treatment, and the results of your treatment can last for up to four months.
